Beaker Family - Chapter 1

Welcome back. It is so good of you to return to us. I see you are interested in all that has taken place in Area 62. Well, let me assure you that today you are in for a real treat. Today we visit the Beaker household. Now let me tell you, I was a little surprised to find the house the way that I found it but before I say too much I'll let Nervous Subject fill in all the details for you. Nervous...

Uh, hi. I, uh...um, well, let's see. How do I begin? It, uh, certainly, um, has been no secret throughout the town that Loki and Circe Beaker didn't treat me the best. I came to live with them when, uh, I was, uh, a kid, ya know. I, uh, don't know why I got send there, but, um, I did. So, um, they made me live in the basement of their, uh, house. It wasn't so bad really. You can see I had a, uh, nice bed and all. But ya know it was still the, um, basement.

So that was where I lived. Nice, huh? Loki really, uh, wanted to, um, keep me down there all the time. But, uh, it was Circe who, um, convinced him to, uh, let me out ya know? It was, uh, nice of her to do that. Loki, um, kinda complied. He would, uh, let me out but, uh, a lot of the time it was so he could, you know, do stuff to me. I guess, the, uh, long and, uh, short of it is, uh, that I really didn't, um, have the greatest life, ya know?

Sometimes I'd, uh, sneak out when, uh, Loki and Circe were at work. Sometimes, I'd, uh, use the phone. I did have a couple, um, friends. Pascal Curious was, um, sympathetic to me and we'd, uh, talk, ya know, on the phone. I'd also get calls from, um, this crazy old woman. Everyone said, she was, uh, weird, ya know? But old, uh, Olive Specter, she'd just, uh, call me and talk and talk. I don't, uh, know why but she, uh, just did, ya know?
Sometimes though, when I'd, uh, use the phone. Loki would, uh ya know, catch me. That, uh, didn't usually go over so well.
He'd, uh, scream and shout at me about how he, uh, let me live there with him and his, um, wife, ya know? I, uh, never, um, really knew how to respond. It wasn't like I, uh, wanted to be there, ya know? Loki didn't, uh, exactly make life easy for me, ya know? Sometimes I'd, uh, fight back, but most of the time I was, um, quiet. Easier that way, ya know?

I'd get awful, uh, lonely. Especially when Loki, uh, unhooked all the phones. Sometimes I'd, uh, talk to things, ya know? Loki and Circe thought I was, uh, going crazy. Maybe I was going, um, a little crazy. But, how, uh, could I not with all they did to me, ya know?
Sometime in the middle of my, uh ya know, craziness, Loki decided to, um, try and, uh, have a baby with Circe. He was, uh, always going on and on about, uh, getting a son and stuff.
Oh, you do NOT want to know what I, uh, had to do to get that, um, picture.

I, uh, have made no, um, secret that Loki was, uh, pretty mean to me. He would, uh, lock up the refridgerator so I, uh, couldn't get into it to, uh, get food for myself. I had to, uh, eat whatever he and, uh, Circe decided I was, uh, to eat. Most of the time he would, uh, forget to make food for me. So I would, uh, be left to, uh, lick clean the plates that he and, uh, Circe left for me to, um, clean up, ya know?

Yeah, it was, uh, not so good for me. Now, most people, uh, believe that it was both Loki and Circe who were, uh, cruel. But that, uh, isn't always the case. You see, Loki, uh, did something to Circe. I, uh, don't know what it was, but there, uh, were times when she'd, uh, start to be nice to me, ya know? Usually, when, uh, this would, um, start to happen Loki, would, uh, do something and Circe would, uh, go back to being cruel again. But then, things start to, uh, change, ya know? Like, this one day, Loki had, uh, let me out so that I could, um, study. That was really the, uh, only reason he let me out. So there I, uh, was, sitting and studying. Minding my own business, ya know, when Circe, uh, came over and, uh, sat right down, next to me and started to, uh, study with me!

Then, this, uh, other time she, uh, just came up to me and, uh, starting having a conversation just, uh, right out of nowhere.

I, uh, could hardly believe it and I, uh, thought, there is no way this is, uh, going to last for long, ya know? But it didn't change! In fact, it seemed like Circe was, uh, starting to like me, ya know. She would, uh, talk to me a lot but never when Loki was around, ya know? I guess she, uh, didn't want him getting ideas, ya know?

So, Circe and I, uh, became friends. We were, uh, such good friends that she, uh, told me she was, um, pregnant before she even told, uh, Loki.

Loki was, uh, happy that Circe was, uh, pregnant, I guess. He wasn't the most, uh, supportive, ya know? When poor Circe was, uh, in the bathroom, puking her guts out where was Loki? At work or, uh, up on the roof watching for something in the, uh, sky. He, uh, was never there to help poor Circe. And she was so sick.

Nope, it was me who got the, uh, ginger ale and soda crackers for Circe when she, uh, could eat nothing else. So, it was, uh, natural that during her pregnancy, Circe and I, um, grew closer as her belly grew...

and grew.

Loki didn't like how much time I was, uh, spending with his wife. I was, um, feeling bolder since my new found friendship with Circe. I, uh, felt like I finally had someone in my corner, ya know? So, I told him that I, uh, wouldn't have to be spending so much time with his, ya know, wife if he was around once in a while. Well, Loki didn't like that, ya know? So he attacked me. That's right he just out and attacked me! We fought like crazy with Circe right there screaming for Loki to stop.

Loki decided that I, uh, needed to be punished for me, um, outburst. So he came at me with one of his, uh, toys. It put me into a pretty intense coma and I, uh, pretty much missed Circe's third, um, trimester.

I, uh, came out of it just in time to Circe go into labor. Of course Loki was, uh, no where to be found so I had to help Circe deliver her baby.

She gave Loki the son he was craving. Circe named the child the name that she and, uh, Loki had chosen, Mitchell. (Mitchell Beaker - S1, Red Hair, Dark Blue Eyes) He certainly was a cutie.

Loki was, uh, pretty happy that she had a boy. So was Circe. She was, um, starting to fall out of love with Loki as she told me. While Loki was, uh, pleased with his son he didn't, um, want to spend much time helping to take care of the little guy. I did more caring for Mitchell than Loki did. Circe was, um, grateful to me because she had to go back to work right away.

I spent so much time with Mitchell that Circe let me help him when his birthday came. (Mitchell Beaker - Gemini: 2 Sloppy, 8 Outgoing, 8 Active, 0 Serious, 7 Nice)

I, uh, don't really know when it happened but I, uh, started to fall in love with Circe. Maybe it happened when she was pregnant and I was taking care of her, or maybe it happened when I was helping take care of Mitchell or maybe when we baked Mitchell's first birthday cake together. I don't know, but I do know that I, um, didn't pull away Circe went to kiss me on Mitchell's birthday.

It seems that Circe had fallen in love with me too.

One afternoon, Circe had the, uh, day off work and I had, um, put Mitchell down for a nap. We both thought that Loki had gone to work. I went into Circe's room and she pulled me down on the bed. She began kissing me quite, um, heavily.

Well, one thing, um, led to another and, well, um, we kinda, ya know?

It turned out that Loki, uh, didn't go to work that day. He had, um, just been up using the telescope and had, uh, come back downstairs to go to sleep when he, uh, discovered Circe and me in bed together.

Loki, um, flew off the handle. He pulled Circe from the bed and slapped her as hard as he could and was shouting horrible things at her.

Well, I couldn't just stand by and let him beat on Circe so I, uh, I attacked him.

And I kicked his butt good!

But this meant that Loki would, uh, never let me live in peace again. He has kicked Circe out of the house and I, uh, I'm going with her.

You are going with her?

Uh yeah. I'm going with her.

What about little Mitchell?

Well, see, uh there's a bit of a, um, problem there. Loki won't let Circe take him with her. Circe's pretty upset but we, uh, we can't stay here any more. We're, um, going to see what we can do after we are, uh, out of the house.

Well, thanks for taking them time to fill us in Nervous. It sounds like you are in a hurry.

Uh, yeah, I am. We've, uh, got to get out now, ya know?
