Loner Family - Chapter 2

Our final visit today will be at the Loner household. Last time you will remember we got ran off by Ajay after some, uh, orientation comments. But you will also remember that his wife Madeleine was pregnant with their first child. Oh, here is Madeleine now. Perhaps she can fill us in on what has been happening.

Oh. Its you. Things have been disastrous around here. Ajay has been, well, different. When you were here last I was pregnant and about ready to pop. And pop I did. I had a long difficult labor and the baby came so hard that I almost didn't live through the ordeal.
Fortunately I did and Ajay and I had a beautiful daughter. We named her Bridget. She has a lot of her daddy's looks with his black hair, brown eyes and brown skin.

Not long after Bridget was born Ajay started to become more distant. He was gone a lot. He said he had lots of work to do. It bothered me a little bit but I had Bridget to take care of so I was distracted. I'd spend hours with her, playing with her, cuddling her, nursing her and my favorite, bathing her.
Ajay was gone so much and as much as I adored little Bridget I was kind of lonely. I ate countless meals at our table...alone.
He did make it home for her birthday though. It was her first one so it was important he was there.
Here is our beautiful little girl as a toddler.

Ajay continued to distance himself. He was never home and I was getting to be pretty upset about things. I taught Bridget everything. I potty trained her, taught her to walk and taught her to talk. Her first words were "ba-ba" and "ma-ma." She never did say "da-da" but said "daddy" much later. A sad story, I know.

Before I knew it my baby was a girl. A beautiful, beautiful girl who looks so much like Ajay.
I was getting more and more frustrated with Ajay's absences. I had heard rumors that he had gotten one of the aliens around here pregnant. I couldn't believe it. I didn't want to believe it. Not my Ajay. He would never do something like that. I didn't see the alien so I couldn't confront her about it so I just continued living in my denial.

One day I was cleaning up from Bridget's and my dinner when I noticed a bouquet of roses on the counter. At first I was touched. I thought that Ajay had bought them for me because he was gone so often. I walked over and read the note and couldn't believe what I saw.
The flowers were from a man! Some guy named Eric. I was floored. A MAN had sent my husband flowers thanking him for their date! I would much rather have had them come from the alien. I could have handled that but a MAN! I had to confront Ajay about this. I just had to.

He was out of town and I was too dumbfounded by my discovery to notice that I had missed my period by a couple weeks. I went to the doctor before Ajay returned and sure enough, I was pregnant once again.
When Ajay got home from his trip to find a pregnant and irate wife. I confronted him about the roses from Eric and fully expected him to deny it.
Imagine my surprise when he didn't. Instead he told me everything that had happened. He told him how some people around here thought that he was gay. So he fooled around with Lola Curious (the alien from the rumors.) He had heard that Lola was pregnant but was too freaked out to do anything about it. Admist all this he had turned to his good friend Eric GilsCarbo. Eric had come to his aid and been very supportive. Ajay told me he was very confused about his feelings for Eric and so when Eric started flirting he flirted back. They went out on a date and Ajay and Eric were kissing. He said Bridget was in her crib and I was at work when it all happened. He hadn't expected things to take the turn they did.
I could hardly believe my ears. I couldn't believe that my husband, the father of my children could possibly be gay. I told him this and he said that what happened with Eric was nothing. Little more than some experimentation. He said they hadn't slept together and he said he was sorry but he had to figure that out. He begged my forgiveness.
So what could I do? I love him. I forgave him. I told him he had to at least see Lola's child and end anything with her and explain what had happened. I told him he had to support her child as best as he could because it just wasn't right to leave her high and dry. And I told him that it would take time for me to heal but we were having another baby and that baby needed to grow up with its father. He agreed. So we are giving it a go.
Since then he is spending much more time at home. He plays with Bridget a lot and they are really good friends now.


So things seem to have worked out?

Yes. We are happy again.

You think everything will be okay with Ajay now?

Yes. It has to be.

Why?

::sobbing:: Because it just does!

Oh Madeleine. I'm so sorry about everything. I truly hope everything works out for you guys. Bridget is beautiful and deserves to have two parents who love not only her but each other. Good luck.
